Drone surveys
We're looking to complete some property surveys through the use of drones.
You'll hopefully be aware that the focus on Building Safety has increased, and new Government legislation is expected with the introduction of the Building Safety Bill.
As part of our preparation for these new requirements, we are rolling out a program to create a digital model of our high-rise blocks so that important information about the building can be captured and stored electronically. This will be achieved by digitally scanning the building from the outside using drones and within the internal common areas using a digital measuring system.
- The survey will take place between Monday 11 August and Friday 15 August between 7am and 6pm (weather depending)
- The drone inspection will mean a remote-controlled drone will fly up each elevation of the building taking pictures, following this the images will be converted into diagrams providing a digital plan of the building
- The drone may fly past your flat whilst getting into position to photograph the main building. If you notice it and to ensure safety and privacy please do not stand on your balcony (if you have one) until after the inspection, you may also wish to close your curtains during the flight and keep your windows and balcony doors (if you have one) closed
- An internal scan of the communal areas will involve a surveyor taking photos and should not cause you any disruption
We'll be completing the surveys at 3 of our high rise blocks:
- Harding House
- Ockendon House
- Southdown View
- We're working with our partners DEEO and to do this a drone inspection of the outside of the building and internal scan of the communal areas will take place between Monday 11 August and Friday 15 August between 7am and 6pm (weather depending)
- The drone will be operated by a qualified drone pilot who will be on the ground outside your block
