Air source heat pumps

An air source heat pump is a modern heating system that extracts heat from the outside air, to warm your home and water. It replaces your traditional gas boiler with a more efficient, environmentally friendly solution.

Some of the benefits of having an air source heat pump are:

  • In an insulated home with solar panels, heat pumps can reduce heating costs
  • They will be able to give you consistent, even warmth throughout your home
  • Provide your home with both heating and hot water
  • They will work in cold temperatures (down to -15°C)
  • No gas safety checks needed
  • That they're environmentally friendly

When we install a air source heat pump we will:

  • Install a new outside unit installation
  • Fit a new hot water tank inside your home
  • Try to minimise the disruption during the 3-5 day installation
  • Fit new, larger radiators where required
  • Provide you with clear timelines and daily updates of the installation
  • Install new heating controls
  • Give you training on how to use

By replacing a gas boiler with a air source heat pump, the average UK household could lower their carbon emissions by around 65%, which is a reduction of roughly 1,404 kgs of CO2 per year.

They maintain steady, comfortable temperatures and allow each room to be individually controlled. Heat pumps have been used widely for many years in countries with very cold winters.

They’re quieter than a modern washing machine, typically 40-60 decibels from 1 metre away, and can be programmed for quieter night operation. Our engineers will always carefully position them to minimise disturbance.

The outside unit is similar to an air conditioning unit with various installation options (wall or ground mounted). The hot water tank typically fits where the old system was, and all pipework is neatly concealed.
