Electric heating

There are several options for electric heating, but the main example is modern storage heaters for homes where heat pumps aren't suitable, such as some flats. It’s an alternative to gas or heat pumps, often used in homes without central heating.

Some of the benefits of having electric heating are:

  • That it's a quick and easy installation with no pipework required
  • There's no need for gas or fuel deliveries
  • They are smart controls for room-by-room heating management
  • It tends to work well with renewable energy like solar panels
  • There are no annual gas safety checks needed
  • They tend to be low maintenance compared to gas boilers

When we install solar panels, we will:

  • Installation of electric storage heaters
  • Improved heating controls
  • Minimal disruption, no major building work required
  • Guidance on best energy tariffs for cost efficiency
  • Let you know about any manufacturer warranties that are available
  • Offer smart usage tips to help manage costs

Modern electric heaters convert all the electricity they use into heat with no on-site emissions, and when powered by renewable energy like solar, they can cut carbon emissions to near zero, making them a future-proof heating option.

It’s true electricity costs more per unit than gas, but super-efficient modern systems are offsetting this. Smart tariffs (like Economy 7) allow cheaper off-peak charging, and we provide clear cost comparisons to guide you.

Not anymore! Modern storage heaters are 30% more efficient than old manual ones.
