Lifts
The below content covers lift types, inspections, and servicing procedures, including communal and domestic lifts, LOLER inspections, and the importance of reporting lift issues promptly.
We categorise lifts into two general categories: Communal Lifts and Domestic Lifts.
Communal Lifts:
- These lifts are usually passenger lifts and are located in communal areas
- However, some blocks may have stairlifts too
Domestic Lifts:
- These lifts include stairlifts and through floor lifts designed to go between floors in a multi-story property, similar to communal passenger lifts
- We carry out periodic inspections and services to ensure lifts are in good working order.
- Our nominated contractor checks the lift's oil levels, safety features, operation, and lift levels at the floors.
- We also conduct Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) inspections by an independent company to check the safety features of lifts
- LOLER inspections are similar to an MOT on your car, and we carry out repairs and replacements for any highlighted works
- If you notice any malfunctioning of lifts, report it immediately by contacting us
- We prefer multiple reports rather than no reports at all
- We will carry out repairs for communal and domestic lifts as agreed under our responsibility
- If a in stairlift is beyond economical repair, we require written approval from an OT who will assist us with the relevant grants to facilitate the works
- If the breakdown is reported during working hours, we will send a text to customers to advise of the breakdown
- We aim to attend lift outages within 4 hours, and if someone is stuck in a lift we will attend in 1 hour
- If there are going to be delays in fixing the issue due to parts availability, and you have medical needs which will restrict you from accessing your home. Please do let us know.
