You can find lots of information on our services below, as well as the different help and support that we can provide.

Abandoned homes

If we think a home’s been abandoned (the customer has left the home), we’ll take steps to contact the customer, and if we’re unable to, we’ll take steps to end the tenancy.

You can report this by contacting us.

  • Sometimes, we’re made aware that one of our homes may have been abandoned and we investigate. Part of this investigation is to send letters to the home and attempt to contact the customer in other ways
  • If you’ve confirmed you’re still living in your home, you don’t need to worry, but your Neighbourhood Officer may be in touch to find out a little more about why this may have been reported

  • If you've received a Notice to Quit, this means we’ve carried out an investigation and believe your home is empty as we may not have had a response from you
  • If you’ve confirmed you’re still living in the home, you don’t need to worry, but your Neighbourhood Officer will be in touch to find out a little more about why this may have been reported

  • If you're going to be away from your home for several weeks/months then you need to let us know. If we’re not aware, we may begin investigations into your home if we receive reports of the home not being used
  • If you claim Housing Benefit or Universal Credit, you’ll also need to contact them to see if your claim will be affected

You can report this by contacting us.
