The My Home Contents Insurance scheme provides residents with a variety of valuable benefits, including:
- Accidental damage to TVs DVD’s and home entertainment equipment excluding portable equipment – covered as standard
- Digital downloads – (films and music) included up to £2,000
- Extra cover for special events – increased cover of £1,500 or 15% of the sum insured (whichever is higher) for one month before and after (weddings, Christmas or other religious holidays)
- Valuable items at home – covered up to 40% of the contents sum insured or £5,000 (whichever is higher) for claims involving more than one valuable or £2,500 for any single valuable claim
- Contents in gardens and communal areas with a £1,000 limit, and a limit of £500 for plants, shrubs and trees – included at no extra cost
- Tenants’ improvements – up to £2,000 or 20% of the sum insured for fixed items or improvements such as decorating, flooring or fitted kitchens
- Mobile phones in the home – covered for insured events (e.g., fire, theft, flood), optional cover extension available to cover accidental damage in the home * or personal possessions away from the home for loss, theft or damage *
- Fridge/freezer contents loss or damage is included as standard, except where the damage is caused if the electricity supplier deliberately cuts off the supply to your home
