It’s important that you allow us access to your home to ensure your safety and if you don’t allow us in this is a breach of your tenancy agreement. You must allow our employees or contractors access to the home at all reasonable hours to inspect or carry out repair work or routine servicing to the home or any adjoining land/building.
If you don’t provide access, we may have to apply for an access injunction in court, which is a legal order for you to let us in. You’ll be liable for the costs. We’ll only apply to court when we have made every reasonable attempt to get into your home.
The most common access injunction is for the annual gas safety check, this is because it’s a legal requirement for us to complete every year. There can be a serious risk to yours and your neighbours’ health if not completed.
