Rent a garage
- We rent out garages to anyone aged 18 or over. If you rent a home with us, you’ll need a clear rent account before applying
- We allocate garages on a first come first served basis
- You can rent a garage for as long as you like, providing that you keep up to date with rent payments and the garage is maintained and looked after
You can complete an application online. Once you have submitted your application, receipt will be confirmed by a pop-up message box on your screen. You'll receive no further communication until a garage becomes available.
There's no need to reapply, as your existing application will stay on the list, unless we have already contacted you with an offer.
Once you’ve submitted your online application for a garage through our website, it will be added to our waiting list. You’ll remain on this list until a suitable garage becomes available. There’s no need to reapply, as your existing application will stay on the list, unless we have already contacted you with an offer.
How applications are processed
Applications are reviewed in date order, starting with the oldest and moving to the most recently submitted.
Current waiting times
Please be aware that we are currently receiving a high number of applications. Because of this, we’re unable to provide an exact timeframe for when a garage may become available. We appreciate your patience while you wait.
Receiving an offer
When a garage becomes available, our garage officer will contact you by email with an initial offer.
- The offer will be valid for 5 working days
- If we do not receive a response within this time, the offer will expire and your application will be deleted
- How much you'll pay will depend on the location of the garage, but the average charge is £60 per month. The charge may be lower if you rent a home from us – we’ll confirm when we offer you the garage
- Payment must be made in advance by direct debit – you can set up a new direct debit here
- You’ll need to pay one month rent in advance on the day you sign up and then continue to pay in advance by direct debit
- Any hazardous materials
- You can’t use a garage to help run a business unless we give you permission
- You mustn't obstruct any other garage users. You'll be renting the garage, not the space in front or the areas around it
- And remember, we're not responsible for anything left in your garage
- To end renting a garage, we need 1 week notice
- If you have an online account, you can end your garage agreement under Manage Property. You'll need to make sure you select 'End a tenancy' that is under your garage account
- Let us know by getting in contact and we can start the process
- Garage termination will end Sunday of the same week
- Keys can be posted through the letter box in our Basingstoke office or posted if sent by recorded delivery or registered post
