Accommodation types and moving options

We're a leading provider of affordable homes and services in southern England, specifically Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, and expanding to West Sussex. With 72,000 customers, we offer social rented, affordable, market rent, and shared ownership housing options, and have over 33,000 homes with more under construction.

Our properties include family homes, modern apartments, specialized buildings, and care homes for the elderly. As both builders and landlords, we can often provide unique solutions to finding the perfect home for you.

  • It's allocated via your local council - apply with them directly to join their housing register 
  • General housing is split into social and affordable rent 
  • Affordable rent properties are more expensive but can be identified in adverts 
  • Affordable rent is 80% of open market rate and capped at local housing allowance 

Look for a mutual exchange or apply to join the housing register with your local council.

Local authorities can vary in advice as they may have different processes, so it's always best to check in with them.

  • The local authority sends details of the successful nominee to us. It could take a couple of days from the bidding closing for your details to be passed to us. Our Lettings team will carry out a few checks before you’re contacted. We aim to get in touch within 2 weeks.  
  • The lettings team will contact you and send you a provisional offer email with all the property details and ask you to complete a forms to check your suitable for the home. You will need to complete these within 2 days. 
  • We'll assess your form within 5 working days and we'll be in touch with you if we need any additional information or clarification on information you've provided. We’ll let you know when the checks are complete, if you've passed and we can offer you the home. 
  • When it the home is safe to view, we'll arrange a viewing appointment with you. Work may still be ongoing in the home when you view it.If you’ve been offered a new build, a face-to-face viewing and sign up will be arranged after handover.Please don’t visit the home property unless an appointment has been made with us. 
  • Viewings can be attended by a maximum of 3 people and we can’t allow anyone under the age of 16 to view the home due to health and safety reasons. Wear sensible clothing and footwear.
  • Once we have a 'ready to let' date, we’ll contact you to book in your sign up appointment. Sometimes 'ready to let' dates can change last minute due to unexpected works, we ask you not to arrange removals or deliveries until you’ve got your keys.
  • We require 4 weeks rent in advance from all customers to secure a home. If you're unable to make this payment we'll not be able arrange a signup appointment. Some local authorities may help with a Discretionary Housing Payment if you’re unable to pay this but they will need to check your eligibility and it isn’t guaranteed. You will need to get confirmation from your local authority that they will be helping with the rent in advance before a signup can be agreed.  
  • General Needs properties do not come with carpets, white goods or furniture - these are your responsibility to source.  

  • If you’re moving out, you'll need to give 4 weeks’ notice in writing. You can do this by completing an end of tenancy form or by emailing VIVIDlettings@vividhomes.co.uk. In your email you'll need to include your full name, date of birth, your VIVID address, the reason you are moving (such as if the property is too big or small) and your forwarding address. Emails need to be from the email address we have registered for you.  
  • You can only give notice if you're our tenant or if you have Lasting Power of Attorney on behalf of one of our tenants, which we’ll need to see proof of.   
  • Your notice period will start from when written notice is received. All tenancies end on a Sunday. 
  • You will be given a Moving Out guide from our Lettings team for information on how to leave your property to avoid any recharges and how to return your keys. 

  • We have various supported accommodation available
  • An assessment would need to be completed by the support provider

  • Speak to your support worker or apply to join the housing register with your local council
  • When ending a supported tenancy you should ask your support worker to help you give notice. You’ll be required to give 4 weeks’ notice, and tenancies can end on any day of the week  

  • Available in Eastleigh, Basingstoke, Hart, and Rushmoor
  • Provides 24/7 care and support staff while allowing for independent living

  • Apply for extra care accommodation by applying to join the housing register with your local council
  • If you wish to end your tenancy, you'll need to give 4 weeks’ notice in writing. You can only give notice if you are a tenant or if you have Lasting Power of Attorney on behalf of a tenant, which we’ll need to see proof of.
