Community triggers

A community trigger is also known as a case review, it empowers repeat victims of antisocial behaviour to ask for a review of the actions agencies have taken to resolve their concerns.
To start a community trigger please call 101.

To be eligible, you need to:

  • Have experienced 3 incidents as an individual in the last 6 months
  • Be 5 individuals in the local community who have separately reported similar incidents, where you all feel dissatisfied with the action taken and all agree that they want to raise the community trigger / case review

There will be a multi-agency case review which involves various agencies (e.g., local police, Local Authority, Housing Association, NHS). The Community Trigger process is more of an attempt to ultimately fix the problem and devise an action plan to resolve the anti-social behaviour.
Consideration must also be given for you, the victim, to attend the first part of the hearing, (to provide a written statement or an advocate on your behalf should you not wish to attend) to explain the harm that the ASB is causing you and/or your family and to express your wishes about what you would like to happen as a result of the hearing.

You can find out more about community triggers on the Government website.
