Help & Support

You can find lots of information on our services below, as well as the different help and support that we can provide.

Mediation

We ask that anyone who has fallen out with a neighbour to show willing to be part of the solution, so we can offer free, independent mediation in these circumstances.

Mediation is a way of sorting any differences, with the help of a third person who won't take sides. This person is called a mediator, they can help you:

  • reach an understanding, common ground and help improve relationships.
  • work out the best way forward for all involved.
  • listen to all points of view - they won’t take sides, or point fingers.
  • they will help to create a calm atmosphere where you can reach an agreement, you’re all, happy with and suggest practical steps to help you agree on things
  • You don’t need to be face to face, the mediator acts as the go between and helps take any fear or concerns you may have away.
  • Everything you say in mediation is confidential.

If you feel that you could benefit from the service, please let us know by getting in contact and our ASB team can look into this.
