Rights & responsibilities

Your tenancy agreement is a contract between you and us.  It specifies the terms and responsibilities for you as the ‘tenant’ and us as the ‘landlord’. 
Your tenancy agreement can be in sole name or joint names.
 

  • Pay your rent on time
  • Keep your home in good condition and you report any repairs
  • Ensure you, or visitors to your home don't cause any nuisance and annoyance to others
  • Allow access for mandatory repairs, gas servicing and electrical testing
  • Maintain your garden to an acceptable level
  • Ask us if you want to make changes to your home, so we can give you the necessary permissions

We’ll:

  • Contact you if there’s a problem with how you’re managing your tenancy
  • Carry out repairs which are reported to us in a timely manner
  • Keep you informed of any planned maintenance and cyclical work required to your home
  • Inform you of any changes to your rent and service charges
  • We won't enter your home without you providing access

  • If you breach any of the terms of your tenancy agreement, we may consider taking tenancy action against you
  • Please contact us if you have any concerns. We may be able to help you before things get too serious. We believe there is always a way we can help

  • If you believe we’ve breached our responsibilities, you can make a complaint
  • You may want to seek independent advice if you believe this to be the case

  • If you are having any problems looking after your home, please speak to us
  • We understand there are many reasons you may find it difficult to look after your home and we can help you. We have lots of support available – we can help you to create an action plan and resolve the problem
